DO’s:

• Blot or mop excess water

• Remove and prop up wet upholstered cushions for even drying.

• Place aluminum foil or wood blocks between furniture legs and carpeting.

• Wipe excess water from furniture.

• Open drawers and cabinet doors for complete drying.

• Remove valuable paintings and art objects and place them somewhere safe.

DON'Ts:

• Don’t use your household vacuum to remove water.

• Don’t use TV’s or other appliances while standing on wet carpet or floors.

• Don’t leave books, magazines, or any colored items on wet carpets or floors.

• Don’t turn on ceiling fixtures (if ceiling is wet).

• Don’t leave wet fabrics in place.
